Journals available online

The DIT's subscription to the hard copy versions of the International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management and Management of Environmental Quality have been cancelled from December 2013 onwards. Authentik en Español ceased to be published in April 2013.

The International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management and Management of Environmental Quality are still available online. They can be found by searching the library catalogue or by scanning the QR codes listed below.

Authentik en Español is no longer published but free resources are available online. A QR code is also included below.

 Back issues of all three journals are still available as hard copy.

Irish eTourism Day

 
ENTER 2014, the largest eTourism Conference of its kind in the world, will be held in the Chartered Accountants House on Pearse Street from 22-24 January. Now in it's 21st year, this is the first time that ENTER will be held in Ireland, the DIT is the local organiser for the event and the conference will feature Irish eTourism Day.
 
Irish eTourism Day will be a one day stream at the conference showcasing the latest in eTourism from all over Ireland. Speakers on the day will include Alex Gibson from the DIT. The event will be chaired by Patrick Horan (DIT) and Ciaran Doherty (Tourism Ireland).

Postgraduate further study fair

On February 12th, gradireland.com are holding a fair in the RDS for people interested in doing postgraduate courses.

There will be exhibitors from across Ireland and overseas at the event. Visitors will be able to find out about hundreds of postgraduate, further education courses and research opportunities.

Closed from 21st December 2013 - January 1st 2014 inclusive

Normal opening hours will resume on Monday 6th January.

Saturday Opening

Cathal Brugha St library will open on Saturdays approaching the exams and over the exam period. We will be open from 10AM to 5PM on the following dates:

Space in the library

During exam time, there is often a lack of space for students in the library.

To facilitate maximum use of the library during exam time, places left unattended for longer than 30 minutes will be cleared.

Donal Skehan homecooked tour


The presenter of Kitchen Hero, Donal Skehan, is promoting his new book, Home Cooked, with a nationwide tour this month.

Donal cooks onstage during the Home Cooked show and asks members of the audience onstage to cook with him. There will also be a book signing after the show.

Online Q&A with food experts

November is Food Month in the Irish Times. The newspaper will be running food-related content in all sections of the paper both online and in print this month.

There will also be an online Q&A forum between 1pm and 2pm every Friday with chef Domini Kemp, wine writer John Wilson, baking expert Eunice Power, food writer and restaurant critic Catherine Cleary and food writer Marie Claire Digby.
