DIT School on Culinary Arts on TV

TV chef Donal Skehan visited The DITs School of Culinary Arts in Cathal Brugha St. recently.  Have a look at his show, Kitchen Hero, which airs on RTÉ 1 on Monday, April 30 at 8:30pm.  You might see yourself or one of your fellow students on the show as he joins classes in the DIT kitchens and restaurant.  See this link in the DIT News for details.

2012 Gourmand World Cookbook Awards.

Four Irish books were honoured in the 17th annual Gourmand World Cookbook Awards this year. 

Farmhouse Cheeses of Ireland, by Glynn Anderson and John McLaughlin came in 2nd in the Cheese cookbook category. 
Our Daily Bread, by Roz Crowley was 2nd in the Bread cookbook category. 
Tweet Treats, by Jane Travers was 2nd in the Fund Raising, Charity and Community - Europe category. 
Boiling Point: My Adventures in the Restaurant Game, by Nick Munier came in 4th in the World Cookbook Awards for Food Literature.

Hospitality and Tourism publications are popular reads on ARROW@DIT

In March this year, Hospitality and Tourism papers were in the top 3 most read papers in the DIT Library's Arrow database - http://arrow.dit.ie/
Festivals, events and tourism by Bernadette Quinn was in the 3rd most popular paper downloaded. 
Articles written by the School of Food Science and Environmental Health were 3rd in the Most Popluar Publications category.

SATURDAYS ARE BACK!

Saturday opening will resume at Cathal Brugha Street Library from April 14th to May 26th inclusive. We will be open from 10am - 5pm each Saturday.

Easter opening and closing at Cathal Brugha St library

Cathal Brugha Street Library will be open as normal (9am - 9pm) up to and including Wednesday April 4th.

On Thursday 5th we will close around 12.45pm as the building must close by 1pm.

The library will remain closed up to and including Tuesday 10th. We will reopen with usual hours (9am - 9pm) as from Wednesday 11th.

We wish all staff and students a happy Easter.
