Christmas opening hours


The Christmas opening hours in Cathal Brugha St library are as follows:

Monday 16th - Thursday 19th December
9:00AM - 5:15PM
Friday 20th December
9:00AM - 5:00PM
Closed from 21st December 2013 - January 1st 2014 inclusive
Thursday 2nd January
9:00AM - 5:15PM
Friday 3rd January
9:00AM - 5:00PM

Normal opening hours will resume on Monday 6th January.

Saturday Opening

Cathal Brugha St library will open on Saturdays approaching the exams and over the exam period. We will be open from 10AM to 5PM on the following dates:

4th January
11th January

Space in the library

During exam time, there is often a lack of space for students in the library.

To facilitate maximum use of the library during exam time, places left unattended for longer than 30 minutes will be cleared.

Donal Skehan homecooked tour


The presenter of Kitchen Hero, Donal Skehan, is promoting his new book, Home Cooked, with a nationwide tour this month.

Donal cooks onstage during the Home Cooked show and asks members of the audience onstage to cook with him. There will also be a book signing after the show.

Online Q&A with food experts

November is Food Month in the Irish Times. The newspaper will be running food-related content in all sections of the paper both online and in print this month.

There will also be an online Q&A forum between 1pm and 2pm every Friday with chef Domini Kemp, wine writer John Wilson, baking expert Eunice Power, food writer and restaurant critic Catherine Cleary and food writer Marie Claire Digby.

Event management for Halloween

Events management students and horror fans might be interested in an article in today's Irish Times about tourism events that revolve around Halloween. The article looks at events, like the Tayto House of Horrors and the Haunted Spooktacular Horror Farm, that are run just for Halloween. Companies that run events all year, like the Dublin Bus Ghost Tour, ghosthuntireland.ie and the Nightmares Fear Factory in Niagara Falls, Canada, are also reviewed.

Halloween Bank Holiday

The library will be closed on Monday 28th October for the Halloween bank holiday. We will be open again as normal on Tuesday 29th October. Opening hours for that week will be as follows:

Monday 28th October       Closed
Tuesday 29th October       9am to 9pm
Wednesday 30th October  9am to 9pm
Thursday 31st October      9am to 5:15pm
Friday 1st November         9am to 5pm

From 16th September, the library will be open at the following times:

9:00am to 9:00pm
Thursday
9:00am to 5:15pm
Friday
9:00am to 5:00pm

The library will also be open on Saturdays on the run up to the exams.
