TERM-TIME AGAIN

As from Monday 12th September, Cathal Brugha St Library will be open on term-time hours.

These are:

Monday to Wednesday 9am - 9pm.
Thursday 9am - 5.15pm.
Friday 9am - 5pm.

There will be Saturday openings closer to the first semester exams.

We would like to welcome in particular the new first-year students and we hope we can help them to get the most out of their studies.

AUGUST BANK HOLIDAY

Cathal Brugha St Library will be CLOSED from 5.15 pm on Friday 29th of July until 9.30 am on Tuesday 2nd of August, after which normal Summer-time opening hours will resume.

We wish all our readers an enjoyable bank holiday.

SUMMER OPENING HOURS

Starting on Monday May 23rd, Cathal Brugha St Library will be open on the Summer timetable, which is 9.30 AM - 5.15 PM MONDAY - FRIDAY. These hours will continue throught the Summer months, and we will resume term-time opening in September.

Our last Saturday opening will be May 14th, and our last evening opening will be Wednesday 18th.

MAY WEEKEND OPENING

Cathal Brugha Street Library will be OPEN this Saturday, 30 April, from 10 am until 5pm, but we will be CLOSED on Monday 2nd May. The Library will re-open on Tuesday 3rd and normal term-time hours will resume.

SATURDAY OPENINGS AT CATHAL BRUGHA STREET LIBRARY

The Library at Cathal Brugha Street will be OPEN on the following 4 Saturdays (April 23rd and 30th, May 7th and 14th) from 10am until 5pm, in order to facilitate exam study.

Important new Olfactory reference guide

The Library has acquired a very important new reference work which is now available for consultation.

This is the Olfactory reference guide. Its pages include scratch-panels enabling the reader to pick up the smell of various food ingredients by scratching the thumbnail panels on the page.

There are 3 volumes: Volume 1 is for dairy products, Volume 2 is for meats and Volume 3 is for confectionery.

Naturally, the guide has to be used in the library office as the smells might otherwise disturb other readers.

Those wishing to consult the guide are asked to contact me Richard.barrett@dit.ie   as soon as possible, as each of the scratch-panels wears out after a number of uses.

OUR OPENING HOURS - REMAINDER OF MARCH

Cathal Brugha St Library will be open as follows until the end of March

Tuesday 15 and Wednesday 16 March: open 9am until 5.30pm.

Thursday 17 March: CLOSED for St Patrick's day holiday.

Friday 18 March: open 9am until 5pm.

Monday 21 until Wednesday 23rd March: open 9am until 9pm.

Thursday 24 March: open 9am until 5.15-pm.

Friday 25 March - Monday 28 March (inclusive): CLOSED for Easter vacation.
  
Normal opening hours will resume on 29th March.

Important Notice

Due to shortage of staff, the Library in Cathal Brugha Street has no option but to curtail hours for the next two weeks.
